Breeder-sponsored Temporary Membership
The Committee has agreed that breeders in at least their third (calendar) year of fully paid-up membership may choose to sponsor those who purchase kittens from them for temporary free membership and no entry fee. Sponsored members will have free but non-voting membership in the first year and the right to full membership on renewal on payment of the normal annual subscription.
The breeder must pay a £10 subscription (but no entrance fee) for each member sponsored. The (special) application forms are available to breeders from the Membership Secretary or from Tables at shows, or by downloading them from the internet. They must be completed by the breeder at the time when kittens are handed over to their new owners and be signed by both the breeder and the sponsored member, and then sent off by the breeder to the Membership Secretary in the usual way. Applications for sponsored membership that reach the Membership Secretary after 1 October, where free membership will thus begin in mid-November, will allow the member to enjoy it until the end of the following year.
The scheme began on 1 January 2007 and will be on a trial basis for the first
year or so.
